What Is IVF Treatment?
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), also known as the test tube baby procedure, is a fertility treatment in which eggs are retrieved from the ovaries, fertilised with sperm in a laboratory, and the resulting embryo is transferred into the uterus.
IVF is commonly recommended for blocked fallopian tubes, severe male-factor infertility, endometriosis, recurrent IUI or IVF failure, age-related fertility decline or unexplained infertility. Depending on your condition, your specialist may also advise ICSI, Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), blastocyst transfer or PGT.
IVF success rates vary significantly by age, embryo quality and overall reproductive health.
